Wedding Lake Orta

For their contemporary and minimalist wedding, Muriel and Cédric — our French bride and groom, both passionate about sports and devoted to the art of living — fell head over heels for Lake Orta.

Their wish? To tie the knot in an intimate setting, surrounded by their closest loved ones, in one of the most romantic and unspoiled locations in Italy.

The ceremony

For the religious ceremony, a moment especially dear to Muriel’s heart, the couple chose the Santa Maria Assunta church, nestled in the heart of the village of Orta San Giulio.

This vibrant baroque church perfectly embodies the authentic charm of Italy. To add a joyful and soulful touch to the celebration, they invited a gospel choir whose energy lit up the ceremony and carried through to the church steps—welcomed by warm applause from their guests… and even from passing tourists, captivated by the atmosphere.

Boat ride and getaway to Isola San Giulio

After the ceremony, the guests were immersed in the magic of the place with a boat ride across the peaceful waters of Lake Orta—an unspoiled, lesser-known gem brimming with authentic Italian charm.

Their journey then led them to Isola San Giulio, a mysterious island wrapped in silence and spirituality. Legend has it that the island was once infested with serpents and dragons, until Saint Julius arrived, armed only with his faith and his cloak, to build a church upon it.

While the guests enjoyed an exclusive guided tour in French, Muriel and Cédric slipped away into the narrow, poetic alleys of the “Via del Silenzio” to capture their first couple photos as newlyweds.

Sky bar, modern reception and dolce Vita with a lake view

After this journey filled with silence, history, and emotion, it was finally time to celebrate!

For their contemporary and minimalist wedding on Lake Orta, Muriel and Cédric chose one of the lake’s most iconic and modern hotels for their reception. The aperitif, cake cutting, and dance party all took place on the private Sky Bar, offering breathtaking views over the lake. Dinner was held in an elegant panoramic room that perfectly combined sophistication and warmth.

Their wish to share this special place with their loved ones was fully fulfilled. To extend the experience, a French-speaking guided tour was organized the next day for guests who wanted to explore the charming village of Orta San Giulio and the UNESCO-listed Sacro Monte.

Though smaller than the famous Lake Maggiore or Lake Como, Lake Orta is full of hidden treasures. Authentic and peaceful, it’s the perfect setting for a multi-day wedding celebration, blending exploration and shared memories.
